The Kingdom plays a “key role” in this dynamic, in which the Moroccan economic operators "play a leading role,” he told MAP on the sidelines of the Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders (MedaWeek 2017), held in Barcelona.
Sijilmassi said he was pleased to see that in events aimed at promoting this dynamic, as is the case for the MedaWeek in Barcelona, "Morocco is strongly present with a very large delegation".
The event was also marked by the Mediterranean Award of the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) which was handed to the President of the COP22, Salaheddine Mezouar, in tribute and in recognition of the Kingdom's commitment to the fight against climate change, he noted.
The MedaWeeek in Barcelona, co-organized by ASCAME and the UpM in collaboration with other partners, is an annual event which highlights the potential for cooperation and exchange between economic operators in the Mediterranean countries, he pointed out.
The Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders of Barcelona (MedaWeek), organized in Barcelona on Nov. 22-24, addresses several challenges, including the restructuring of traditional industries and the diversification of economic activity, the attraction of major foreign investment and the intensification of cooperation between all the region’s countries.
The event brings together more than 1,000 entrepreneurs from 35 countries.
