Head of Libyan presidential council Fayez Al Sarraj delayed his visit to Khartoum that was scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday due to the security deterioration witnessed in Tripoli since Tuesday.
Sudan’s Foreign Ministry revealed, in a press statement on Wednesday, that Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al Ghandour received a phone call from his Libyan counterpart Mohamed Al Taher who explained the security developments witnessed in the country since Tuesday
According the statement, the Libyan official stressed keenness of Sarraj to hold the visit as soon as possible, calling the Sudanese counterpart for delivering his apology for Sudan’s President Omar Hassan Al Bashir.
Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al Ghandour, on his hand, expressed his government’s understanding of the current conditions witnessed in Libya, stressing Bashir’s keenness to host the Libyan head of presidential council as soon as possible.
