Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi has warned of a campaign aimed at fomenting Arabs and Kurds in the country, accusing some politicians of defending the lies of IS organization in the city of Mosul.
Abadi said during a speech at a festival of national unity on Saturday that a campaign, which he did not reveal the parties behind it, is trying to stir up sedition between Arabs and Kurds in the country.
"I say to the Kurds, you are Iraqis of the first class, like the rest of the citizens," Abadi said, asserting that the government looks forward to building an Iraq whose citizens are not varying degrees.
Abadi explained that IS is spreading their lies through social networking sites, and some politicians adopt the defense, demanding the sons of Mosul not to surrender to the rumors.
He pointed out that diversity in Iraq is not a weakness point, and there is a need to start a new page of national unity, saying: "I tell the people and other minorities that we are all sons of this homeland."
