Lifelike dinosaurs took center stage in the Feathered Fashion Show on Thursday.
The event took place at the Barclays Center in New York to promote the Walking with Dinosaurs movie and arena show. Jay Manuel (America's Next Top Model) played host as the detailed animatronic creatures "walked the runway" in the stadium.
Walking with Dinosaurs is a 2013 family film about the prehistoric creatures produced by the BBC. The story takes place during the Late Cretaceous period 70 million years ago, and features voice-overs by John Leguizamo, Justin Long, Tiya Sircar and Skyler Stone. Although the characters and plotline are fictional, directors Barry Cook and Neil Nightingale sought to create a lifelike experience by using computer-animated dinosaurs in live action settings.
The movie is based on the 1999 BBC miniseries of the same name, which also inspired the 90-minute "live" show Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular. The production has given 1,746 performances across the globe, and returned to the Barclays Center this week. Dinosaur fans can see the lifelike creatures on tour in a number of cities through January 2015.
