"Pulp Fiction," "Mary Poppins," "Roger & Me" and "The Quiet Man" are among the 2013 additions to the National Film Registry, the U.S. Library of Congress said. Librarian of Congress James H. Billington announced the annual selection of 25 motion pictures to join the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress Wednesday. The movies on the registry are to be preserved as cinematic treasures. "The National Film Registry stands among the finest summations of more than a century of extraordinary American cinema," Billington said in a statement. "This key component of American cultural history, however, is endangered, so we must protect the nation's matchless film heritage and cinematic creativity." Also added to the registry this year are "The Magnificent Seven," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," "Forbidden Planet," "The Right Stuff," "Judgment at Nuremberg," "Cicero March," "Decasia," "Men and Dust," "Daughter of Dawn," "A Virtuous Vamp," "Ella Cinders." Other entries include "Bless Their Little Hearts," "Brandy in the Wilderness," "Gilda," "The Hole," "King of Jazz," "The Lunch Date," "Martha Graham Early Dance," "Midnight," "Notes on the Port of St. Francis" and "Wild Boys of the Road."
