Iranian President Hassan Rouhani visited the Fifth Islamic Film market held in Tehran on Sunday with over 100 foreign TV channels and media institutions displaying their latest productions. The visit took place on the sidelines of the Seventh General Assembly meeting of the Islamic Radios and Televisions Union which will start work today in the presence of political and media figures of over 18 foreign states in Tehran. President Rouhani is scheduled to address the inauguration ceremony of the meeting later today. Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is also due to address the participants in the meeting through video-conferencing from Baghdad. Iranian films have attracted global interest and have been acclaimed by a large number of awards in different international festivals in recent years. Unlike the Hollywood cinema whose products are mainly focused on violence, sexual relations and fiction, Iranian cinema highlights morality in dealing with real issues in the society as well as humanitarian values, monotheism, justice seeking, freedom, faith and resolve.
