“Harragas” (Illegal Immigrants), a film by Algerian filmmaker Merzak Allouache, will participate in the 1st Bahrain Film Days which will take place in Manama from 26 to 30 November, said the event’s organizers.
Lasting 95 minutes, the film is a French-Algerian production which deals with the “illegal immigration.”
Harragas participated in several international film events and was awarded at the festivals of the United Arab Emirates and Spain.
The first edition of Bahrain Film Days, which will focus on the Asian cinema, will pay tribute to Arab filmmakers like Khaled Seddik (Kuwait) and Daoud Abdessaid (Egypt).
"Maousim Erridjal" (The season of Men) from Tunisia, "Rassail el bahr" (The letters of the Sea) from Egypt and "Habibi biyestannani inda el bahr" (My Love awaits me by the Sea) from Palestine are among the films which will take part in this cultural event, in addition to films from Turkey, the United States of America, Mexico, Denmark and Cambodia.
