The big-screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic bestselling novel Fifty Shades of Grey is the No. 1 film at the North American box office for a second weekend, Rentrak announced Sunday.
Starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, the movie raked it $23.2 million in the United States and Canada from Feb. 20-22.
Coming in at No. 2 is Kingsman: The Secret Service with $17.5 million, followed by SpongeBob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water at No. 3 with $15.5 million, McFarland, USA at No. 4 with $11.3 million and The DUFF at No. 5 with $11 million.
Rounding out the top tier are American Sniper at No. 6 with $9.7 million, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 at No. 7 with $5.8 million, Jupiter Ascending at No. 8 with $3.7 million, The Imitation Game at No. 9 with $2.6 million and Paddington at No. 10 with $2.3 million.
