Lebanese singer and actress Razan Moughrabi Cairo - Mustafa el-Queyas Lebanese singer and actress Razan Moughrabi says she is delighted with the positive feedback from the public for her performance in television drama Hekayet Hayah (A Life's Story). Moughrabi played the character of Ekram in the series which was broadcast on Egyptian satellite television during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The actress told Arab Today: "I'm really happy with the positive feedback received for Hekayet Hayah, especially with the high viewing figures. It's always nice to read comments that fans post on social networks, because they are the real judges of my work, and their comments are an indicator of how they have perceived my work." Commenting on her selection for the role, Moughrabi said: "When Ghada Abdel Razek approached me for the first time, I was really excited. However, after working with director Mohammad Sami and author Ayman Salama, I told them that this was not the role for me as it was something completely different. "They told me that they had complete faith in me to do well in the role. After the first day of filming, I didn't think much would change, but after that I started to feel comfortable and was able to take control," she explained. The Lebanese actress spoke in Egyptian dialect in Hekayet Hayah, a challenge she embraced successfully. "I did not find come across any difficulties in speaking in the Egyptian dialect because I mastered it. I also know that the key to improving my Egyptian speaking skills is to speak with Egyptians in the streets." Moughrabi revealed she turned down several offers to present her own television show during Ramadan, adding that she will host a new programme about art on al-Hayat TV after Eid al-Fitr. The Lebanese star also denied that she has put her singing career on the back burner, claiming the tense political situation in Egypt has affected several singers and music production companies. "I'm finalising plans to shoot the video for my latest single Taala (Come), and will also be releasing a new song for children very soon," she said. Moughrabi also said that she would return to the big screen in the near future, and has read several movie scripts over the last few months. "I am looking for a role that would develop me as an actress. I know that there are a lot of good opportunities out there and I would just like to tell my fans that they will see me in movies once again, very soon."
