Syrian actress Nisreen Tafesh said she is currently revising a number of scenarios ahead of Ramadan drama season, including “Daesh Dancer,” in which she falls in love with an IS militant.
In an interview with Arab Today, Tafesh said she is interested in the “heart wrenching and suspense driven drama” written by scenarist Asmaa Wahba to have all 30 episodes ready for Ramadan 2017.
She added that her latest drama “Haramlek”; a historic drama which has been prepared for since last year.
In response to a question related to the heated competition with other TV stars of her generation, Tafesh said she takes it easy as she was always “in case of competition with herself” in order to offer the best she has.
Tafesh expressed her wish to take part in an international drama after approving the terms and without compromising the quality of her role. Meanwhile, she showed an interest to achieve fame in the Arab world through “distinguished” drama with renowned director, actor and actresses.
Tafesh was born in Aleppo, Syria to the poet and author Yousef Tafesh and an Algerian mother. Thus Nisreen carries traits from across various parts of the Arab World. She has thus far been successful in her works and has attracted positive attention to her name. Her latest work is the Syrian production “Sabbaya” (“Youths”). Nisreen has received a number of awards.
She worked in the series Rabee' Qortoba (Cordoba's spring), playing the lead female role of sultan Subeh, wife of Caliph Al-Hakam. The work was written by Walid Saif.
