Egyptian actress Mervat Amin expressed her pleasure for her participation in “Forbidden to Approach or Imaging” film, saying that it discusses a number of new issues that have not been discussed before. She praised the positive reactions to the film, saying that they were good reactions.
She added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, she does not consider her role as comic, saying that she performs a role of a mother dealing strictly with her sons because of her fear of them so she was attempting to control them, saying that such approach is not the right way to deal with sons.
She denied that the film carries any abuse against the Interior Ministry, saying that the film explains the relation between the policeman and the ordinary citizen in a comic framework.
Regarding her absence from the TV drama during the recent years, she said, “I do not like to be presented in drama without the suitable scenarios attracting me to participate in the work.” She revealed that she participates in a new series entitled “Do not Extinguish the Sun” scheduled to be presented during the coming Ramadan
She added that a large number of young superstars participate in the new work, including Mohamed Mamdouh, Amina Khalil and Ahmed Malek. She revealed that she performs a role of an aristocratic woman confronting the social developments around her.
She stressed that she does not like to see blood and violence in the films and series, saying that the increasing works that discuss such actions do not benefit the Egyptian society. She expressed her refusal to write her memoirs or to present her biography in an artistic work, describing such works as a violation against the artist’s privacy.
She added that the female artists of the current generation enjoy beauty, stressing that the major factor to assess any actor is the talent not the image. She also praised the Turkish drama, saying that she is keen to follow the Turkish drama shows. She added that such works managed to achieve high popularity in few years.
