Movember - a portmanteau of the Australian-English diminutive word for moustache, “mo”, and “November” is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s suicide.
#Movember - #NoShaveNovember and #Movember trended on social media as users discussed men’s health issues.
Martin Bird: “Day 23 myself and the rugby lads have now raised over £1,200 if you would like to contribute please click link below and help us change the face of mens health.”
Danny Minkler: “A little Movember update.”
Lozz Holding: “There are several people with a prostate that have achieved great things: Abraham Lincoln, Helen Clark, and Colin Craig to name a few. What these people have achieved would never have been possible if they were living with an undiagnosed inflammatory condition back there. Please help the cause, raising awareness, and $$ for research for issues relating to men’s health. Chances are you know someone who knows someone with a prostate and/or testicles. Donate kindly... to our fundraising page.” Charlie Cheshire: “With only one week to go in Movember it has been amazing to see the tremendous support behind the Foundation, even if my moustache has been a little bit lacklustre.” Tom Katsoolis: “Hey Everyone! Movember is coming to a close and I want to make the most of this last week reaching out to a few people... With your help by donating to the link below we can help others reach an age that they can look back and appreciate who has been in their life. Young men and women are dying far too young and this is our opportunity to make a difference. I hope that we are still apart of each others lives for many years to come! Every dollar helps! Big Love, Tom”
Movember Foundation UK: “This is your one week warning: the countdown is on! These are the biggest days yet, the final leg. What’s your goal for the next seven days?” Movember Foundation USA: “‘12 months after my Dad passed away from depression, a good friend contacted me to get a bunch of guys to grow Mo’s for Movember. My mates had always been really supportive, but had struggled at times to know how to support me. Doing something fun like growing a Mo was a great, light-hearted way to show that we believed in the cause.’ - Tom Windsor, Mo Bro since 2006
Together we can stop men dying too young. Help us fund game-changing men’s health projects: http://mvmbr.co/DonateUS

Women are also joining to support men in the cause:
Scra2ch: “Scra2ch celebrates #NoShaveNovember to raise awareness of men’s health issues... A big thank you to the nail artists who have shown support in their own little ways.”
