The federal department of nursing in the ministry of health has organised a training workshop for intravenous therapy trainers. About 50 nurses completed the workshop and were trained on the theoretical and clinical requirements pertaining to intravenous therapy. The training workshop, which was held at the Blood Transfusion and Research Centre in Sharjah, enabled the trainers to renew their trainer cards for two more years and be updated on their tasks and responsibilities in the ministry’s healthcare facilities. The training course was aimed at raising the standards of nursing services that are provided for patients and visitors at the ministry’s healthcare facilities by applying initiatives and plans that would develop the skills and capabilities of the nursing staff.
