Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has granted the Lebanese government Al-Bouar Hospital, located north of Beirut, medical equipment as part of the fund policy to aid development in the country. Lebanese Minister of Health Ali Al-Khalil, in a statement during a ceremony held on the occasion at the hospital, located in the region of Nahr Ibrahim on the coast north of the capital, praised the Kuwaiti fund for its major contribution to Lebanon's development in various sectors, namely the health field. Nawaf Al-Dabbous, KFAED's representative in Lebanon, affirmed the fund policy of backing development in Lebanon, noting that the Kuwaiti support would continue and cover social and economic sectors in all Lebanese regions. The fund devotes special interest for the health sector, he said, noting that it has been helping the country rehabilitate medical centers and update equipment at hospitals in various areas of the country. The fund has contributed to construction and renovation of six hospitals and eight medical centers, in addition to offering consultancy for supervision of such ventures. The latest Kuwait help includes a cardiac audio device, an integrated X-ray system, a device for treating glaucoma and surgical equipment.
