The International Medical Center (IMC) got a certificate of quality from the Joint Commission International (JCI), the world's largest health care accreditor.
The IMC is the first military hospital in Egypt and Africa and the fifth military hospital worldwide to get such certification, IMC Director Amr Hegab said in a press conference Thursday.
The three-year certificate is just a starting point not the end of the road for the IMC, which seeks more upgrade and progress, Hegab said.
To get certified, the IMC went through 284 criteria by JMC and had to get at least 95% to pass the test, he said.
