An entire day of free "healing for body-mind-spirit" will take place in Dubai on Saturday.Residents will be able to participate in "holistic health" workshops and sessions at The Alternatives Seminar, taking place at Ramada Chelsea Al Barsha Hotel. Organisers said people will be able to choose from dozens of "modalities" like hypnotherapy and life-coaching offered by over 20 practitioners from Dubai and abroad. The event will run from 11am to 7pm and is open to everyone. Alternative healing techniques are catching on with residents who want to explore the mystery of the mind and how it affects our well-being, said Medina Burkhanova, mind-body-energy practitioner at The Third Eye.This can be done through yoga or modalities like theta healing, which is said to release feel-good hormones.Meanwhile, participants can also get a sense of what life-coaching involves, Burkhanova added. "It's about guides helping people organise their world through personal one-on-one sessions. It could be anything - weight problems or making that dream holiday happen," she said."You can discover whatever you want to at the seminar, it'll be the A to Z of healing. It's for everybody and anybody, from all walks of life. This is the opportunity to do it all for free. You'll be taken care of the whole day, pampering your soul. You choose what you're comfortable with. "Nowadays we're too used to paying for everything every day, wherever you go." The holistic approach is said to take into account a variety of factors when probing a health issue, going beyond just the physical world. "There's a connection between our thoughts, emotions and bodies - it's about making all the links positive," Burkhanova said. From / Gulf News
