The Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), Dr. Mariam Adhbi Al-Jalahma, participated in the Global Healthcare Travel Forum, which kicked off here today under the patronage of the King Abdulla II of Jordan.
The Forum is organised by the Jordanian Private Hospitals Association (PHA) and the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), with the participation of 32 countries. The forum also features an exhibition in which 35 medical institutions and companies from all over the world will display their products.
Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma, in a statement, said that the global forum is essential in consolidating medical tourism among countries, and enhancing exchange of medical expertise among them, noting that the NHRA has held many work meetings in which the kingdom’s licensing and control systems, as well as investment opportunities in the health sector, were highlighted.
She affirmed that the kingdom has allocated great interest to consolidating medical tourism, in line with the directives of the leadership and the government, stressing that Bahrain boasts encouraging requirements for medical tourism, including huge medical potentials, qualified and trained medical staff, high quality services enjoyed by patients and updated legislation.
The Global Healthcare Travel Forum sessions address a number of topics, including "Global Medical Tourism Destinations", "Legislation, Regulations and Accreditation", "Buyers and Patients Perspective", "Excellence in Medical Care and Medical Tourism Education and Research", "Medical Tourism Marketing and Branding" and "Expanding the Scope of Healthcare Travel"
