Special Adviser to UN Secretary-General on Yemen Jamal Benomar concluded his official visit to Yemen on Thursday, during which he took part in the inauguration of the second phase of the national dialogue conference. Upon his departure at Sanaa international airport, Benomar told reporters that his visit, which lasted several days, included meetings with officials in the Yemeni government, and political sides taking part in the national dialogue conference. Also, he held a number of meetings with members of the national dialogue conference that aimed to prepare for the Friends of Yemen meeting set to take place in New York, on the sidelines of the UN's General Assembly's meeting in September. Benomar is expected to submit a special report, later this month, on development of the political process in Yemen and the extent of commitment by all sides to implement the road map, included in the GCC initiative, and its executive mechanism
