United Nations independent expert on the situation of human rights in the Sudan, Mashood Adebayo Baderin, is scheduled undertake his second visit to the Sudan. The mission will focus on assessing and verifying the situation of human rights in the Sudan in order to determine the technical assistance and capacity building needs of the Sudanese government. The mission will take in Khartoum and Darfur, where he will meet government officials, civil society actors, members of the diplomatic corps and UN agencies. At the end of his visit, the independent expert will release a press statement with his main findings, as well as his preliminary observations and recommendations. Mr. Baderin will then present his findings and recommendations in a comprehensive report to the UN Human Rights Council in September 2013.
