Adviser of the UN Secretary-General and his envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar arrived in Sana’a on Thursday. During this visit, Benomar will meet with officials in the state and leaders of political parties and civil society organizations, youth and women. In a statement to Saba, Benomar explained that the aim of the visit is to help all parties to overcome difficulties for reaching the final outputs of the national dialogue conference (NDC). The NDC has made great strides and the working groups are trying to address a number of problems that still exist, he said. He pointed out that he will focus during the visit on preparing the new report that he will submit to the UN Security Council on September 27, which will include what has been achieved during the recent period at the level of the political settlement and the existing challenges. The NDC will come up with outputs, including a set of foundations and principles for writing and drafting a new constitution by the Constitution Drafting Committee immediately after ending the conference ,Benomar added.
