Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to pay an official visit to Tehran on Tuesday to confer with senior Iranian officials on the consolidation of the bilateral relations. Erdogan will travel to Tehran on January 28, marking his first visit to Tehran after President Hassan Rouhani won the presidential election in June 2013. According to reports, Iran and Turkey will probably sign a high-level strategic cooperation agreement during the Turkish premier’s trip to Tehran. Iran and Turkey have increased their cooperation in various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy and culture in recent years. The two sides have exchanged several politico-economic delegations during the last few months.
