Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Tehran on Tuesday for a two-day visit for talks with senior Iranian officials on political and economic relations. Erdogan will begin his official talks tomorrow when he meets the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rohani and his first deputy Eshaq Jahangiri, official media reported. The Turkish-Iranian Economic Committee is set to hold a meeting during Erodgan's visit, ending a two-year halt. Erdogan, in a statement before leaving Turkey, hoped his visit would create suitable atmosphere to increase trade exchange to USD 30 billion by 2015, from USD 13 billion last year. He said Turkey imports 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Iran every year. "The reduction and cancellation of the embargo (on Iran) the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries will grow," he added.
