HH Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President's Representative and Chairman of Emirates Heritage Club, today attended the opening ceremony of the UAE President Cup for Endurance at Bou Theib International Village for Endurance at Al Khatm. The event, which will conclude on Saturday, is organised by Emirates Heritage Club under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed. Flanked by Ali Abdullah Al Rumaithi, Executive Director for Activities at the club, Sheikh Sultan toured the Bou Theib village, where he met a number of female riders taking part in the 100km distance local endurance race for women, which will kick off on Friday. He also met the heads and members of the committees to ensure work progress is on track to make the event a success. The inauguration started with the 40km qualification stage in which 177 riders from different stables nationwide participated. Over 100 riders were qualified to the next stage. Meanwhile, the organising committee of the event thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his continuous support to the sports and Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed for his dedication and follow up. It added the event draws the endurance riders nationwide to take part in the race.
