Princess Basma, president of the Jordanian National Commission for Women, on Sunday met with a Danish women’s delegation, which arrived in Jordan on Sunday to become acquainted with the situation of Jordanian women and their achievements. The visit is part of a project implemented by the Queen Zein Al Sharaf Institute for Development, which is affiliated with the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, in partnership with the Danish Centre for Gender, Equality and Ethnicity and the Women’s Council in Denmark. Discussions covered means to enhance Jordanian women’s participation in the Kingdom’s political life. Local women’s rights activists and former ministers took part in the meeting. Also Sunday, Princess Basma, president of the National Goodwill Campaign’s higher committee, met with newly appointed Orange Jordan CEO Jean-François Thomas. During the meeting, the princess commended the continuous cooperation between the campaign and Orange since 2001. Talks also focused on the campaign’s goals and activities and means to develop partnership between the two sides. From JT
