Deputy Foreign Minster Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, who is also member of the board of directors of the King Abdul Aziz Public Library launched on Saturday a portal for the translated books on the sidelines of the function to announce the winners of the fifth King Abdullah International Prize for Translation. The portal is the third launched by the Arabic Union Catalog (AUC), after the portals of the United Arab Emirates and Sudan. Preparations are under way to open portals for other member countries in the Arab world. The prince said the library intended to compile all the intellectual products into a single database, which would be a great help for researchers and translators. He added that the AUC portal for books translated to Arabic contains 120,000 books and other materials which will serve as the nucleus of the compilation.
