Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Al Fayez on Thursday discussed with the head of the Jordanian-Japanese Friendship Society and adviser to Mitsubishi Corporation Mikio Sasaki closer cooperation and supporting Jordan's tourism sector. Fayez thanked Japanese company for its efforts and support to the implementation of a project to generate electricity using solar energy in the ancient city of Petra by replacing diesel generators with new environment-friendly ones. This step, he added, contributes to saving energy and reducing negative impacts on the surrounding environment. For his part, Sasaki expressed pleasure to visit Jordan, which enjoys security and stability and archaeological and tourist sites, pledging to promote Jordan and support tourist sites in Japan.
