Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh on Thursday expressed strong denounced to the Israeli plans to expand the square adjacent to the Western (Wailinig) Wall at the expense of the Mughrabi Gate of Al-Haram Al-Sharif (the Temple Mount), in East Jerusalem. "Israel persists in its unilateral provocative measures in Mughrabi Gate area, which is an integral part of Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif, and one of its holiest sites," the minister said in a statement here. He warned of violation of sanctity of the holy Aqsa Mosque, which is based on the Hashemite care and guardianship of Islamic and Christian sacred sites, and also an embodiment of Hashemite historical and continuous role in protection and guardianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites. Judeh stressed of importance of Israel meeting its obligations under the international laws by immediate cease of these illegal measures which aim to change the historical landscape of the holy city.
