Dr Mohammed bin Ali al-Jozo, The Mufti of Jabal Lebanon, has said that the conflict in Egypt is political and not religious, noting the great majority of Egyptians are Muslims. Dialogue is the only way to solve the political crisis in Egypt, Jozo said, urging Egyptians to unite for the sake of their country and not parties. There is no such thing as sectarian conflict in Egypt, Jozo told MENA, adding the Muslim Brotherhood cannot be seen as a religious segment. Religion should not be a factor in this political battle, he stressed. This is a dispute between political powers that took part in the January 25 Revolution, the mufti said. The Egyptian army belongs to the people, he added.
