Heidi Rasekh, the wife of Egypt's former president Mohammed Hosni Mubarak's eldest son Alaa, arrived in southern Luxor's el-Baghdadi harbour Sunday evening on board the Nile cruise ship, TuYa. Rasekh, who had set off from Aswan, arrived in the company of Elhamy el-Zayat, the head of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers. Authorities tightened security in and around the harbour and banned media personnel from entering it or taking photographs after the April 6 Youth and Kefaya movements in Luxor announced a demonstration in protest against the visit. Rasekh had spent one night on board the cruise ship in Aswan, where she refused to visit local landmarks. She is expected to leave Luxor Monday via the Luxor International Airport.
