The Sovereign was welcomed at the international airport of Bamako Senou by the Malian president and was greeted by several members of the Malian government and by the governor of the Bamako district. Scores of Moroccan and Malian nationals lined up at the airport to greet HM the King, brandishing portraits of the Sovereign and flags of the two countries, in recognition of the Sovereign's untiring efforts to consolidate bonds between the two people. This visit, which comes following HM the King's initiative to set up a military field hospital in Bamako and dispatch humanitarian aid to the brotherly Malian people, will be an occasion for the two countries to strengthen their long-standing ties and develop south-south cooperation. HM the King is accompanied by an important delegation comprising mainly the sovereign's advisors Taib Fassi Fihri and Fouad Ali El Himma. The delegation also includes Endowment minister Ahmed Toufiq, Lieutenant General Abdelaziz Bennani, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Commander of the southern zone and brigadier general Ali Abrouq, Inspector of the FAR health service, as well as several civilian and military figures
