Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki has condemned the Tolouse attacks that killed seven people in south-western France, including three Jewish schoolchildren. An official statement was issued by the Tunisian presidency on Tuesday, saying: "On the back of the painful incident that took place in front of a Jewish school in Toulouse, which caused the death of a teacher and three children all under the age of 10 years, the Tunisian President, Moncef Marzouki has sent a message to his French colleague Nicholas Sarkozy condemning this cruel act. He expressed the sympathy of both the Tunisian people and the Tunisian government towards the French nation and the victims' families." The statement also revealed that Marzouki's message stressed "his firm rejection for racism and extremism, assuring that Tunisia was working eagerly to fight such ideas and to impose respect for fundamental human principles while paying no attention to any religious or racial factors".
