Mr. Moncef Marzouki, Chairman of the Congress for the Republic and candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, said that he "won't change and will always be the son of the people, to serve the people." He added, in a statement to the press after having taken the oath as member of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA), at this institution's inaugural session, that it was "the most beautiful day" in his life and "a turning point in Tunisia's history." He voiced determination to be equal to the political responsibility assigned to him. Regarding the protests staged in front of the Bardo Palace, demanding respect of human rights and the NCA parliamentary term, Mr. Marzouki said that "those citizens' messages have been heard and they will be taken into consideration during the Assembly's works."
