The Tunisian Human Rights League (LTDH) "firmly" condemned the "verbal and physical assault" on Mr. Lotfi Hajji, Director of Al Jazeera office in Tunis, by some sit-inners in front of the National Constituent Assembly seat, in Bardo. LTDH points out, in a communiqué made public on Wednesday, that this attack is "an infringement on the freedom of journalistic work," exhorts the sit-in organisers to fully assume their responsibility in protecting journalists, and calls for the opening of "an investigation against the assailants." The League asserts "its solidarity with the sit-inners' legitimate demands," underscoring the "freedom of assembly and peaceful demonstration and the need to respect freedom of the press, to protect journalists on duty and provide them with the necessary information."
