Jordanian King Abdullah II, the supreme commander of the Armed Forces, on Sunday visited a border guards unit near the northern borders with Syria. The state news agency (Petra) reported that King Abdullah was briefed during the visit on the unit's tasks and duties in safeguarding the Kingdom's frontiers. The King was accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lt. Gen. Misha'al Zaben. The King expressed satisfaction over the role and duties of the border guards in terms of receiving Syrian refugees and fighting all forms of infiltration and smuggling. King Abdullah joined the unit's personnel in a dinner banquet.
