His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein, the Regent, visited the Interior Ministry on Monday where he checked on its work and future plans. The Regent was also briefed by Interior Minister Hussein Majali about the main objectives of the ministry which include safeguarding the security, public freedoms, life and property of the citizens, enhancing a sense of belonging and playing a developmental role as well as enhancing the institutional capacity of the ministry. Majali highlighted the ministry's developmental, administrative and security role, noting that the ministry also works to achieve development across the Kingdom's governorates through overseeing various developmental projects and addressing the issues of poverty and unemployment. His Highness was also briefed about the ministry's vision and aspirations to support the security apparatuses, fulfil their needs to enable them to perform their duties in a better fashion, and to put in place a national strategy to deal with issues pertaining to various crises, including that of refugees.
