President Morsi is currently in Ethiopia for the African summit
Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has called for increased coordination between Egypt and Ethiopia regarding the falling water levels of the Nile River.
A commission is currently
evaluating the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam which effects the downstream states of Egypt and Sudan after Ethiopia expressed its desire to redistribute the quotas of Nile water.
President Morsi is currently in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa to participate in the 21st conference of the African Union. The leaders will also participate in a summit on Saturday celebrating 50 years of African unity.
In a press statement released by the Egyptian presidential office, Egypt and Ethiopia expressed their keenness to improve bilateral cooperation and increase economic ties.
According to the statement, Morsi invited the Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn to visit Egypt in the near future. The Ethiopian prime minister welcomed the invitation, stressing his desire to improve relations.
