Lebanon is partaking in Cannes Film Festival with the short film Waves 98 by Ely Dagher, nominated for a Palme D'Or.
This is the second time Lebanon participates in the international film festival, following Maroun Baghdadi's 1990 nomination.
"I am very proud of my work and hope to win the award," Dagher told NNA correspondent.
"The plot of the film is about my view of Lebanon, as if I were living in some suburb close to the city."
The fifteen-minute-long movie took two years to make by the 29 year old writer and director.
