Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has said
the women represent an important component and human capital to the community.
She added that the women have huge capacities to contribute effectively to sustainable development, noting that they have become partners to men in political, economic and social areas.
In a speech delivered on her behalf by Nora Al Suwaidi, Director of the General Women's Union at the 2nd Arab- Sino Women's Summit 2013, which kicked off today in Amman, Sheikha Fatima noted that the Arab-Sino relations are growing steadily, especially with the UAE.
She said the relations among peoples come on the top, adding that she is looking forward to exchange of expertise between the Arab and Sino women.
Sheikha Fatima said the Arab labour market has been opened to the Chinese workforce, citing that the presence of Chinese women workforce at the Arab labour market is noticeable. Sheikh said the Arab women admire the way their Chinese counterparts compete with men in the labour market.
She thanked HRH Basma bint Talal, sponsor of the conference, and president of Jordanian National Committee for Women Affairs, for her support to the Summit.
Sheikha Fatima welcomed the hosting of UAE to the third Summit 2014 in Abu Dhabi.
