Second Regional Conference of Women Police in Abu Dhabi
Under the patronage of H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, the 2nd Regional Conference of Women Police will begin tomorrow in Abu Dhabi under the theme: "Women
Police...Challenges and Future" with expected wide-scale international participation.
The conference, organised by the UAE Women Police Association in coordination with the Training Department of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and the Scientific Committee for Symposiums and Conferences at the Ministry of Interior, will take place in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC).
Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources Directorate General at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, stated that the conference is a valuable event for UAE Women Police.
According to Al Menhali, such an event enhances the process of women recruiting in police forces in the country and reveals the extent of opportunities for women to assume roles in the public sector.
The major general asserted the commitment and support of the Higher Leadership for the work of women in different fields. He mentioned that with the increasing competence of women, there is more interest in them with regard to their affiliation to police departments. It is importance to be familiar with the experiences of other pioneering countries he said, adding that the participation of 65 countries in the conference reinforces women police work and reflects the UAE's efforts in this regard.
Captain Amina Mohammed Khamis Al Bloushi, Chairwoman of the UAE Women Police Association and Regional Director for Women Police in the Middle East region, expressed her deepest thanks and appreciation to the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters for supporting women policing activities. Al Bloushi declared that women have achieved a high level of success in police work and that they are considered as a model for other countries in the region. She added that women have proven their capability to work as police officers and demonstrate their dedication and devotion in serving their country whatever role they assume.
