Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa
Bahrain Businesswomen Society(BBS) President Ahlam Janahi praised the constant support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women
(SCW), to BBS and Bahraini women.
Speaking during a press conference held on the sidelines of BBS’s 14th anniversary, Janahi stated that BBS is currently developing the Bahraini Women Portal, scheduled to be launched later this year, for the aim of supporting Bahraini woman to set up their businesses, develop sel-reliance skills among them, and improve their competitive potentials in a changing business environment so as to be able support their families and contribute effectively to the country's economy.
She pointed out that this project, funded by Fastlink, will open doors for businesswomen through interconnection networks with associations and similar groups from the GCC countries and the Arab world to identify new markets that may open trade and investment opportunities for them, enable them to expand and go to other markets, and facilitate their access WebFire training sessions in order to acquire knowledge that will help them to start their businesses and enable them to run their businesses efficiently.
Janahi underscored BBS' achievements, including creating businesswoman profession in the ID card rather than writing businessman and becoming a founding member in MENA Businesswomen's Network for 10 countries since 2010, highlighting that BBS took part in international forums and official visits.
She added that the portal project aims to establish an electronic community that enables Bahraini businesswomen to interact with their GCC and Arab counterparts.
She highlighted BBS' participation conferences on the role of Bahraini women in the private sector outside Bahrain.
BBS candidates to the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented their electoral programmes to the attendees, stressing their desire to serve the national economy.
