French Parliament
Lebanese MP Simon Abi Ramia, told Arabstoday that his wife Fabian Abi Ramia has won a reserved parliamentary seat for the tenth ward outside the French territory, which includes Middle
East countries and the Gulf, against the original winner Alan Marceau in the French legislative elections.
Ramia, member of the Reform and Change bloc led by General Michel Aoun, asserted that the final results of the elections has not officially been announced yet and that he was informed of the result by the partisan electoral machine, the Union for a Popular Movement, which was presided over by former President Nicolas Sarkozy.
As for the confusion of a Lebanese MP’s wife winning a seat in another country's elections, Ramia believed that his wife is primarily French.
The Lebanese MP affirmed that he and his French wife will carry out their duties in Lebanon and France without any problems.
