Egyptian women demand respect
Cairo – Enas Al-Neny
Victims of sexual harassment in Egypt will now be able to ring a hotline to lodge a complaint against their harasser. This initiative was launched during Eid Al-Adha by a national women's association and the Egyptian national underground company.
The women's association urges all women to immediately report any sexual harassment in order to prosecute the perpetrators.
Sexual harassment is more widespread during Eid Al-Adha in Egypt, reportedly because of a lack of security and lack of education on the subject.
Victims should ring up 08008883888 if they witness or have been victim of sexual harassment.
