Abdul Bari Zamzami has been banned from preaching in Morocco
Abdul Bari Zamzami, one of the most controversial Islamic figures in the Maghreb, has been banned from preaching in the entire country by the Moroccan government.
Zamzari, who is well known for his controversial
Fatwas [Islamic law issued by a cleric], told Arabstoday: “This decision has no ground, it is not valid.
“The Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq told me that it is not legal to be a politician and a religious adviser at the same time.”
Abdelbari Zemzemi because famous after his issued a necrophiliac Fatwa, according to which it would be legal for a man to have sexual intercourse with his dead wife up to six hours her death. The cleric also issued another Fatwa which allowed masturbation and the use of sex for both men and women. These two Fatwas caused uproar in the Arab world.
