Great Britain's Laura Trott, Elinor Barker, Dani King and Joanne Rowsell
The Great Britain women's pursuit team set a new world record in reaching the final of the Track World Cup in Manchester, northern England, on Friday. Laura Trott, Dani King, Joanna Rowsell -- all Olympic champions
at London 2012 -- and Elinor Barker posted a time of four minutes 23.910 seconds and will now face Canada in the final.
The time improved upon the mark of 4:26.556 Britain set in winning the European title last month in the revised event.
Now the discipline has an extra rider and a further 1,000 metres.
Britain won the London 2012 title over 3km and the final World Championship title over that distance in February.
