The achievements of Bahraini women in the Arab world have been recognised at an economic conference in central London.
The event, titled: The Role of Arab Women
in Boosting Open Economies and an All-Encompassing Growth for Everybody, was held at Lancaster House on the sidelines of the G8 Conference and within context of the United Kingdom's chairmanship of the G8 and the Duffel Partnership with Arab countries undergoing a transitional phase.
Al-Kindi Specialised Hospital's CEO, Ebitissam Al-Dallal (MD), won the top Arab women leadership prize from the conference for her outstanding contributions in medical education, training and vocational skills in the health sector. The Kingdom of Bahrain's Ambassadress to the UK, Alice Sam'an, received the prize in London on behalf of its winner Ebtissam al-Dallal.
The Kingdom of Bahrain assumed six leading positions on the economic map - four of them were members of the Bahrain Society of Businesswomen - in addition to the top prize won by al-Dallal.
The other awards went to businesswomen Afnan al-Zayani in the field of business societies in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, Huda Janahi in entrepreneurship, Khatoon al-Ansari in interior design, Amal al-Moayyed in familial business management and Qamber in young businesswomen category.
