The UNIFIL camp for South Lebanese children
A Spanish battalion operating under UNIFIL organised a recreational camp for the children of Ain Arab, Wazzani, and Marjeyoun in south Lebanon, in cooperation with the "One Entity" Foundation of Lebanon.
The camp was set up in the courtyard of the official school of Ain Arab in the presence of civil relations officer of the battalion Major Calvo, Mukhtar Ain Arab Osman Ahmed, coordinator of activities in One Entity Talaat Bitar ,their families, and members of the Spanish battalion.
Maj Calvo said the activity was directed to the children to enjoy a period of entertainment, with values of giving, awareness, risk-avoidance and respect for others and participation. He cited the commitment of his country's battalion to improve the lives of citizens in their work areas at the service-and moral level, "knowing that maintaining peace takes the larger and more import part of our duty as Spanish battalion in UNIFIL.”
For his part, Al-Ahmad thanked the Foundation and the Spanish battalion for their "initiative towards the town in all fields, especially the medical team, which provides health care for the people of the town every 15 days in the absence of any formal health foundation in our town."
Bitar pointed out that "this activity is one of a series of activities for children that will be held in six towns within the scope of UNIFIL work in the eastern sector".
“The cooperation of the Foundation with UNIFIL is all that serves our people in the region."
The activity included recreational games, drawing contests and face painting
