Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday visited the Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University where he met with his old colleagues.
His Highness commended the development witnessed by the Faculty of Agriculture for its architecture, new modern buildings and the progress in the overall study methods to cope with the rapid scientific renaissance taking place in the field of agriculture.
Dr. Hani Shimi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, presented a detailed explanation of the college laboratories equipped with the latest educational systems. Dr. Sheikh Sultan was also briefed on the future plans and the strategy of their implementation in order to ensure the provision of the ideal education environment for students enrolled in the college.
The Ruler of Sharjah presented a number of initiatives to support the Faculty of Agriculture, including the establishment of a modern library and the latest scientific books in the field of agriculture that benefit students and researchers.
Dr. Sheikh Sultan was accompanied on the tour by Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and a number of officials.
Dr. Sheikh Sultan last night hosted a banquet dinner at his residence in the Egyptian capital in honour of a number of senior officials, writers and intellectuals in Egypt.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah received the League of Arab States' Shield from the Arab League Secretary-General, Dr. Nabil al-Arabi, in appreciation of his role in supporting Arab issues in various facets and forms.
