Mahmoud Ahmadinejad holds a doctorate in transportation engineering
Iran's outgoing president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has obtained clearance to establish a technology university in Tehran, an Iranian
news website has claimed.
According to tasnimnews.com, the former engineer and teacher will return to the education sector after he leaves office next week.
Ahmadinejad will officially step down on August 4, when president-elect Hassan Rouhani is to be sworn in.
The head of state had apparently received permission from the country's Supreme Cultural Revolution Council to set up his university.
The "Iranians University" will focus on information technology, nanotechnology, aerospace and nuclear science, the website said.
Ahmadinejad has a doctorate in transportation engineering from Iran's University of Science and Technology.
