Egyptian students apply for high school exams
Egypt’s high school exams will be launched Saturday, with 419,829 students divided into two groups of 188,418 male students and 231.418 female students. Arabic language and religious education exams will take place on the first day.
The exams, called Thanaweya Amma, are taking place amid tight security by the interior ministry and armed forces to prevent cheating.
Some governors, including the governors of Cairo and Giza, have taken tours inside and outside the exam committees, in order to follow up the exams, check the security operations and ensure that there is a healthy atmosphere for the students.
A few hours before the exams begin; the Ministry of Education has finished establishing 906 rest houses for the monitors in all governorates, after being supplied with electric fans and TVs at a total cost of 12 million Egyptian pounds. Most monitors were moved Friday, to the committees they are in charge of making sure of the availability of all the procedures and preparations announced earlier by the ministry.
Mahmmoud Nada, the General Manager of Exams and vice president of a high school, said in a press statement that an approved has been agreed to supply the districts with 6000 beds as well as devices such as refrigerators, stoves, fans. Six million Egyptian pounds have been allocated to purchase these things, in addition to another six million Egyptian pounds to buy computers, printers and photocopiers for the monitoring and management committees.
