Armed militants in South Darfur state
An armed Sudanese group has assassinated a senior education official and two of his sons in Beleil, South Darfur
.
Mohammed Ahmed Saleh, education director in the Beleil region was gunned down, along with his sons Fakhr al-Din, head of the Students' Union, and Bahaa al-Din.
Mahmoud Fadeel, a politician from Beleil told Khartoum newspaper that gunmen opened fire on the Saleh and his sons at their far, before robbing them of their possession and fleeing the scene.
He confirmed that security forces managed to track down the killers and trap them in the neighbouring village of Yaba.
Following an exchange of fire, all six gunmen were arrested, with two of them transported to a hospital in Nyala, with gunshot wounds.
